In case you couldn't tell, I enjoy the beauty of nature. These shots were mostly taken in/near the desert in central Utah.
If you know the exact scientific explanation of the top-middle one, please let me know. Standing on the dunes when the frost was melting, the shadow still showed where I had been standing, after I moved. You can see my footprints are still there. It has something to do with the frost crystals on the sand being affected differently in the shade than in the sun. The other sand/ice pictures were where the snow had melted where the sun hit it directly, but not where the low-angle early morning sun had put it in the shadow.
